Japan’s WTAPS and Vans seem like such perfect creative partners for each other that it’s almost a shame that their creations are limited to special, collaboration releases. The latest project features two skate staples silhouettes accompanied by cobranded bandanas, tees and hoodies. Revisiting familiar old motifs motif in stark black, white and bright orange, the capsule continues to walk the line between the classic preppy, “Ivy” style of WTAPS with the punk and metal side of Vans.

An all-over crossbones print is just the kind of thing to be expected from the brand that launched the Warped Tour and released special edition shoes for the likes of Bad Brains and Slayer, but the embroidered application is more club tie than sweet denim jacket.
